Mission

Our department provides industrial engineering education by conducting original research in academic field, and aims to graduate students who:

  1. take responsibility in work life,
  2. are candidate to have successful career,
  3. have strong background in occupational issues,
  4. can know the comtemporary technologies and their use,
  5. are soundly committed to follow all kinds of development in occupational issues, and to life-long learning,
  6. are sensitive to social problems and who are aware of their professional and ethical responsibilities,
  7. have effective oral and written communication skills.


Educational Objectives

Our industrial engineering department aims to graduate students who:

  1. have a strong background in natural sciences and engineering sciences, so that they can solve problems in industrial and service systems,
  2. know information technologies and their use,
  3. have knowledge of academic and work life through internships and projects,
  4. have social, environmental and ethical aspects, and who are sensitive to social problems,
  5. have strong interpersonal skills, ability for effective written and verbal communications, and for successful team work,
  6. have up-to-date technical knowledge and ability to follow technological innovations and who are able to adapt themselves to the changing conditions of the future.


Program Outcomes

  1. Ability to solve industrial engineering problems using science and engineering principles
  2. Ability to determine, define, analyze, model and solve complex engineering problems in industrial and service systems
  3. Ability to use contemporary and modern techniques in designing of industrial and service systems
  4. Ability to use information technologies to solve industrial engineering problems
  5. Ability to collect, process, model data, conduct experiments, analyze and interpret results for solving industrial engineering problems
  6. Ability to work individually as well as participate effectively in teamwork when tackling industrial engineering problems
  7. Ability to communicate both orally and in the written form in Turkish as well as in English
  8. Ability to follow technological innovations in order to adapt himself/herself to the changing conditions and commitment in life-long learning
  9. An understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities
  10. Being acquainted with project management and an understanding of entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable development
  11. Being acquainted with contemporary issues and an understanding of the social impacts of engineering in national and global levels
